“We are excited to welcome the Fox River State Bank employees, customers and community to the Greenwoods State Bank family,” says Bill McDonald, Chief Executive Officer of Greenwoods State Bank. “The local markets surrounding the Burlington and Lake Geneva branches will continue to be served by the same great Fox River team of bankers that our customers have come to know and trust.”
Greenwoods State Bank was founded in Lake Mills, Wisconsin in the late 1800s and has recently been in a major expansion mode, with locations throughout Wisconsin in Lake Mills, Monticello, Evansville, Waukesha, Burlington and Lake Geneva. It first announced the acquisition of Fox River State Bank in January 2019, after closely examining the value that Fox River would bring to its customers.
“Fox River State Bank has done a wonderful job of serving small- to mid-size companies in its service area,” says Rob Cera, President of the Bank. “This institution has developed a strong bond and sense of loyalty and commitment to the communities served, and as we bring the Fox River branches into our fold, we promise to continue to work hard to maintain that relationship.”
Greenwoods prides itself on true community-focused banking, with employees who remember their customers’ names, local decision-making, and underwriting that takes place at the facilities themselves. It provides the same e-banking and e-commerce services that larger banks offer, and the Greenwoods team of bankers have strong industry knowledge that they use to better support their customers.
“As we continue to grow, we are able to offer more and more services to meet our customers’ needs,” McDonald says. “We are pleased to welcome all the customers who have come to depend on Fox River State Bank for their banking. We are, indeed, better together.”
